ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – India has sabotaged 19th Summit of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation which was to be held on November 9 and 10 in Pakistan, after it pulled out reportedly prompting like actions from Bhutan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

Few reports that surfaced on Tuesday had suggested that conference of the heads of member states under the auspices of SAARC, to be convened in Islamabad in November was cancelled, but were rubbished by the government.

Aziz stated today that Pakistan was not formally informed about any such development.

The advisor to the premier gave a statement hours after the reports of India sabotaging the conference surfaced today.

The development came a day after Spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced India’s refusal to take part in the summit, terming the environment “not conducive” to convene sessions in Pakistan.

It was claimed by the Indian media earlier today that three states; Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Bhutan also pulled out of the conference following India.

Indian media, over the last month have taken deplorable liberty with its journalistic responsibilities by first falsely claiming cancellation of Russia-Pakistan military exercises and now with claims revolving around SAARC summit.

Responding to Indian propaganda of maligning Pakistan’s image internationally, Foreign Office stated that no official communication was made by the Indian government besides the informal announcement of the ministry on social media.

The spokesman for the Foreign Office, Nafeez Zakaria said that Pakistan remained committed to peace and regional cooperation by making efforts to bring all the countries together.

Narendra Modi’s refusal came as part of the agenda India has been following for decades which got a hard push this month after Brigade Headquarters of Indian army was attacked in Baramulla District of Indian-held Kashmir killing at least 18 soldiers.

India, habitual of using Pakistan as bulwark for its shortcomings and security lapse, out of which many around the world have termed its nuclear programme unsafe, once again blamed the neighbouring state responsible for the attack.

Pakistan responds

Foreign Office, in response to Indian sabotage has lambasted the Modi administration highlighting previous record of the neighbouring state that shows no different moves.

In a statement issued by the office, Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria has stated that SAARC meetings were aimed at bettering economical standing of the region among other focuses but India was committed to not let the eight member states focus on the regional problems.

The Foreign Office has branded the series of recent Indian stirs as agenda to divert attention of the world from Kashmir occupation, curfew and violence being exercised in the valley.

Indian troops have martyred over 100 innocent locals in Kashmir, the spokesperson stated.
