US president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle have arrived in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. During his visit Mr Obama would make a speech outside the largest mosque in South-East Asia and will meet the Indonesian president. Mr Obama spent four years of his childhood in Indonesia, but officials say he will not have much time for sightseeing during the visit. His trip may even be cut short due to volcanic ash spewing from the mouth of Mount Merapi in central Java, an official on Air Force One said.
