Rescuers have finally managed to drill through to an underground chamber where 33 Chilean miners have been trapped since 5th of August, 2010. The 65-day ordeal is the longest suffered by a group of miners caught underground.The men got trapped when part of the mine collapsed. They have been living in a shelter 700m underground. However, the rescuers have penetrated through a workshop 624m deep, which can be reached by the miners. Now the efforts to remove the miners through the tunnel should begin within days.Chile's Mining Minister Laurence Golborne has warned that it will be three to eight days before the rescue mission can begin. Officials also said that everything needed for the rescue is now in place.
