STOCKHOLM (AFP) - Princess Madeleine of Sweden, the youngest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf, and her businessman husband Chris O Neill are expecting their second baby next summer, the palace announced Friday.

"Princess Madeleine and Mr. Christopher O Neill are delighted to announce that the princess is expecting their second child," the Swedish Royal Court said in a statement.

Madeleine, 32, is fourth in line to the throne and lives in New York with her husband.

"We are very happy and look forward to welcoming a new member to our family," the couple said in the statement.

The announcement was also posted on the Royal Court s Facebook page, where the couple immediately received hundreds of good wishes.

Madeleine married British-American businessman O Neill in a lavish ceremony in Stockholm in June 2013 attended by 500 guests, including a number of European royals.

Their first child, Leonore, was born in February 2014.

The royal baby will be the third grandchild for the king and queen.

Madeleine s older sister, Crown Princess Victoria, gave birth to Princess Estelle in February 2012.
