Vijay Kumar, priest of Rudreshwara temple in Nelamangala allegedly assaulted a seven year old Dalit boy in the temple.
The priest allegedly banged the head of the boy against the wall when he went inside the temple to collect ‘prasad’ while it was being distributed.
According to the priest the boy was caught stealing in the temple and he got slipped while being chased.
The parents were initially hesitant to file the case but later they had to when the doctors registered it as medico-legal.
Though the priest denies of knowing the caste of the boy, still the police have registered an atrocity case against Kumar along with the charge of assault.
