Summary Don't raise Kashmir issue at UNGA, first create atmosphere for talks, demands Indian PM

NEW YORK: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Indian Prime Minister Narendera Modi has said that he is ready to engage Pakistan in peaceful atmosphere and without the shadow of terror. He said that United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is not the proper forum to raise Kashmir issue. He said that Pakistan should first create the atmosphere for talks.

Addressing the UNGA today (Saturday) in New York, Narendera Modi said that terrorism is one of the biggest issue of the world. He said that Western Asia is going through serious issues because of terrorism and same has been the case with South Asia for several decades. “Even today, certain countries are providing safe havens to terrorists. When we hear about terms like ‘good terrorism’ and ‘bad terrorism’, even our determination to fight terrorism gets shaken. Some states use terrorism as an instrument of leverage”, he said.

Earlier, Indian PM said that India’s population is one-sixths of the world population. He said that every country has a philosophy and on the base of that philosophy, that country moves forward. He said that India is a country where communication is welcomed. “India looks at the world as one nation”, he said.

India is a country that not only wants opportunity, justice and prosperity for India but has raised it voice for the entire world, said Modi. “I am very impressed with my country’s philosophy”, he added. He said< “If our futures are inter-linked then we will have to work together for making it a better world to live”. Modi said that he was aware of the aspirations of his countrymen.

Modi said that he offered help to Pakistan for coping with floods on that side of Kashmir. “It is time to help Kashmiris who have been affected by flood. We have also offered help to Pakistan to save Kashmir, on other side of the border, from flood”, said Indian Prime Minister.

Modi said that he wanted to be part of G-All, not G-1, 2 or some other number.
