Six people have been taken to a hospital with injuries after a Navy F-18 fighter crashed into a Virginia Beach apartment complex on Friday, a hospital official said.Both crew members ejected. One of them was in good condition and the other was in fair condition, said Thomas Thames, from the Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.Among other people hurt was a firefighter. Injuries included smoke inhalation, he said.The jet crash sent fireballs into the sky and heavily damaged five buildings.Battalion chief Tim Riley of the Virginia Beach Fire Department said there had been no further reported injuries on the ground.The plane was part of a training squadron at Naval Air Station Oceana for Navy and Marine aviators in Virginia Beach.One woman whose home was damaged by the jet crash said she saw the pilot when he was rescued, and that he apologized for what happened.Virginia Beach is on the Atlantic Coast about 200 miles (321km) south of Washington, DC.
