Summary Hillary Clinton has said that the U.S. will ease some sanctions on Burma following the by-elections.

The pro-democratic party headed by Aung San Suu Kyi won the majority in the recent by-elections in the country.In the wake of the Sunday’s by-elections, u.s. decided that travel and financial restrictions would be relaxed and Burmese leaders will be allowed to visit U.S.Clinton also assured that U.S. will soon open its agency for international development and a full ambassador will be sent for further collaboration.In the wake of the steps announced by U.S., EU leaders also asserted that they would consider taking similar steps.The National League for Democracy (NLD) took 40 out of 45 seats in the polls, which were generally deemed to be free and fair.Earlier, Asian leaders called for all sanctions against Burma to be lifted immediately to help the countrys political and economic development in a recent summit .
