Mali man gets 4 years in prison in US terror case

A man who admitted he engaged in drug dealing with men who claimed they worked for Colombian terrorists who committed kidnappings has been sentenced in New York to nearly five years in prison.Oumar Issa was sentenced Monday to four years and nine months. In November the 36-year-old citizen of Mali admitted conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.He says he agreed in 2009 to transport drugs through the Sahara desert.He says the men he worked with claimed they worked for the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia and had kidnapped people. He says he had never heard of the group, known as FARC.Issa was arrested in Ghana in December 2009. He has agreed to be deported after he serves his sentence.
