Italian police released video of over 200 smuggled puppies being seized on a highway near the border area between Italy, Austria and Slovenia.The 209 puppies smuggled in cages on a truck from Hungary were discovered by the finance and border polices operation Bulldog.According to the police the puppies were all under 12 weeks old. Some were as young as four weeks old, the police said.The police put the value of the puppies of diverse breeds, all pedigree, at some 230,000 euros.Two Italian nationals were being questioned over violations of national and European Union laws and transporting the puppies in poor conditions with forged documents, the police said.Last week the police seized another 272 puppies during a similar operation.
