(Web Desk) – HercLéon, has introduced a new T-shirt, the V5.0 Herc Shirt, claiming it can be worn daily for up to 30 days without developing odor or requiring washing.
According to the US apparel company, the shirt is made using a proprietary technology that embeds seven special ingredients directly into the fabric fibres rather than coating the surface. These ingredients include copper, silver, zinc, gold, volcanic ash and two undisclosed materials.
HercLeon says copper helps prevent the growth of odour-causing bacteria, while zinc neutralises sulphur compounds produced by sweat. Volcanic ash is said to absorb moisture and external odours, helping the shirt stay fresh for longer.
HercLeon also claims the shirt lasts longer than conventional T-shirts because it does not require frequent washing.
However, the claims have drawn scepticism, particularly over the shirt's effectiveness during hot weather when excessive sweating commonly causes clothing to develop unpleasant odours. Despite the criticism, the company maintains that its technology performs effectively in real-world use.
The V5.0 Herc Shirt is priced at $79. According to the company, shipments will begin in early November. It will initially be available only in black, with navy blue, burgundy and dark green versions to be released later.
