Summary A 32-year-old businessman sent flight hijack threat email to Mumbai police on 15 of April
HYDERABAD (Web Desk) – A man had sent a flight hijack threat email to Mumbai police several days ago. He was arrested later on and it has been revealed that he did so to make his girlfriend postpone or cancel their trip to Goa and Mumbai.
The incident started on April 15 when Mumbai police received a flight hijack threat email by M. Vamshi Krishna who was arrested afterwards. He is a businessman in Hyderabad and married with a daughter.
The 32-year-old businessman was scheduled to go on a trip to Mumbai and Goa with his girlfriend who he met through Facebook. Vamshi wanted to cancel the plan or postpone it because he didn’t have enough money.
To avoid the situation, he sent the email and alerted authorities with a fake flight hijack threat. Posing as a lady, he alerted the police and airport management that six people were planning to hijack certain planes flying from Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai.
After the fake threat call, authorities strengthened the security at airports and started tracing where the threat came from. It was later revealed that it was a fake threat and nothing more than that. However, the authorities decided to resume additional security for some time.
