A former Argentine economy minister found to have been hiding the equivalent of about $50,000 in the bathroom of her office went on trial Monday on corruption charges.Felisa Miceli, now 60, resigned over the affair in 2007. She said at the time the money was hers and stored in the medicine cabinet of her bathroom because she had not had time to deposit it in the bank.The cache was $31,730 and 100,000 pesos, worth $21,050 at todays exchange rate.A fireman making a routine safety check found it. Miceli was not there at the time.Prosecutors said then that she was hiding the cash to conceal its shady origin, although they did not specify where they thought Miceli got it.The trial is expected to last until December and hear testimony from some 60 witnesses.
