Summary Robbers who failed to open the safe of an ATM set it on fire at Dataran Mentari.
The robbers managed to prise open the outer casing of the ATM at about 4am but could not break open the safe containing the money despite using an oxy-acytelene torch, said Petaling Jaya District deputy police chief Supt Tuah MasromIt is possible the robbers became angry when they failed to open the safe and set it alight in their frustration, he said when contacted here.The Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Station was alerted and six firemen managed to get the fire under control at 5.10am.Police found a bottle of petrol, lighter and fingerprints.Police also examined the close circuit television recording there to identify the suspects, he said. - Bernama
