Summary Anthropic launches Claude tools for financial advisers, connecting AI with major investment platforms to streamline portfolio reviews, meetings and follow-up work.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - AI company Anthropic on Monday launched a suite of tools for financial advisers, connecting its Claude chatbot with investment analytics and wealth-management software from firms including BlackRock, Charles Schwab and Addepar.

The new product, called Claude for Financial Advisors, is designed to help financial services firms prepare for client meetings, review investment portfolios and manage follow-up tasks.

The launch comes days after rival OpenAI introduced a version of ChatGPT aimed at the financial services industry, targeting investment bankers and equity researchers with tools for financial research, modelling and client materials.

Anthropic has been expanding its presence in financial services, developing Claude-based tools for investment research, portfolio analysis, financial modelling and preparation of client materials.

The new offering also connects Claude with data and software from Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com and Zocks.

The launch comes as the pace and cost of AI development face increasing scrutiny, with industry leaders debating whether current levels of spending can be sustained and how quickly the technology should advance amid concerns over potential misuse.
