16-time Olympic medal winner Michael Phelps helped reveal the new technologically-advanced Speedo swimsuits the US swim team will wear in the upcoming 2012 Olympic games in London. The Speedo Fastskin3 was unveiled during a news conference in New York City.According to Speedo, the new Fastskin3 swimsuits will help the Olympic athletes swim stronger and longer by reducing passive drag and full body active drag.Speedo said the swimsuit, goggles and cap have all be designed using the latest 3D technology and is sculpted to the swimmers body.Although technically advanced, Phelps said the swimsuit will not win the races for the swimmers. You know, you are going to have to work, its just like in anything that you do. Im not going to be able to just throw a suit on and become Superman. You know, I have to be able to put in the hours of training and working out and dry land to be able to do those things. So I think thats something that... people are going to have to work a lot harder now than they have in the past, he said.Speedo also called the new swimsuits revolutionary and innovative and promised they would help produce a flood of world records at this summers Olympics.
