Massive earthquake and tsunami decimated the companys Japanese operations. $171 million attributes to the security breach including lost revenue, customer support, a full network security overhaul, and legal fees. This cost also includes the goodwill gesture of the company that will offer free games to affected users. In addition to the free games, PSN users will also be granted access to a selection of PlayStation Network movies.Sony noted that there have been no reports of actual identity theft associated with customer information compromised in the attack.
