Summary Men prefer their cars beefy or fast, while women go for lower price tags and higher fuel economy.

The survey was conducted by a website, TrueCar.com, which studied data from 8 million purchases from 2010 in the United States.The results showed that practical cars like BMW’s Mini had the highest percentage of female buyers at 48 percent, while 93 percent of the buyers for Ferrari were men.The study shows that women car buyers are more cost-conscious and purchased fuel-efficient vehicles while male buyers purchased vehicles that were either high-performance or high-priced.In practical cars, 47 percent of Kia Motors, 46 percent of Honda, 45 percent of BMW buyers were women. On the other hand, 84 percent of Maserati sales, 80 percent of Porsche and 74 percent General motors’ sales were by males. According to the survey, there were 15 brands with more than 40 percent female buyers.
