Apple CEO gets salary raise after higher profits through iPhone sales

Summary Tim Cook reportedly received 46 percent increase in total income

(Web Desk) – Apple CEO Tim Cook was rewarded by the tech giant for producing higher profits through the sales of iPhones in the previous years since he took charge of the company.

According to CNET report, he was given 46 percent increase in total income. He has also been told to fly private due to security reasons.

He was given USD 12.8 million (PKR 1417 million) after the 46 percent salary increment. Apart from the salary, he received USD 89.2 million in equity award.

Cook will not only fly via private plane for all business and personal travel. He has been told by the company to do so following security concerns. In past, Apple CEO Steve Jobs also used to fly through his private airplane.

It was told that Apple succeeded in getting 60% of the total profits in global smartphone segment during the last quarter of 2017. Being the top performer in the smartphone industry in the last quarter, Apple brought home almost USD 151 more than Samsung.
