PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions Cricket League (KCL) ahead of the league's official launch later this month.
The launch ceremony will be held at the Peshawar Cricket Stadium on July 18 at 6pm, marking the formal beginning of the provincial cricket league.
Afridi has urged the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly cricket fans in Peshawar, to attend the event with their families, support emerging cricketers and become part of the province's new cricket initiative.
Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan, who is serving as the league commissioner, will also attend the ceremony alongside several former and current international cricketers.
Organisers said the official dates of the tournament will be announced during the launch event. Details regarding province-wide talent hunt trials, the league's upcoming activities and other major announcements will also be unveiled.
The KCL management has made special arrangements to facilitate spectators, particularly families, and has allocated free tickets for fans attending the launch ceremony.
