Summary Ramiz Raja criticised PCB for removing Shan Masood as Test captain, warning Babar Azam could face similar treatment with current squad.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has strongly criticised the current board management for removing Shan Masood as Pakistan's Test captain.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ramiz Raja said the PCB had made Shan Masood the captain of an average squad and then turned him into a "scapegoat" for the team's poor performances.
He said that if he were in Shan Masood's position, he would have filed a formal written complaint. "When you are consistently given an average group of players, how can different results be expected? If the quality of the squad is not good enough, the captain inevitably ends up taking the blame," he said.
The former cricketer also commented on the squad selected for the upcoming West Indies Test series, warning that Babar Azam could face the same challenges that ultimately led to Shan Masood's removal as captain.
