LAHORE (Web Desk) – 77-year-old Abdul Jalil, famously known as “Chacha Cricket,” will attend the third and final One Day International between Pakistan and Australia in Lahore next week, marking what he says could be his last stadium appearance in the country.
Chacha Cricket first watched a Test match in 1968–69 at Lahore between Pakistan and England. He later became a well-known and regular supporter of the Pakistan cricket team at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
His signature green outfit and cap became his identity, while his passionate support during the 1999 World Cup in England earned him global recognition.
Abdul Jalil said he now plans to establish a restaurant and museum near Sialkot, where he will preserve his cricket memorabilia.
He also shared that he has completed his goal of attending and supporting Pakistan in 500 matches.
Chacha Cricket has witnessed many historic victories, including Javed Miandad’s last-ball six in 1986 and the 2017 Champions Trophy final win.
However, in recent years he has expressed disappointment over the national team’s performance, though he still hopes Pakistan will return to winning ways.
