ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi has been awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his outstanding services in the field of sports.
A ceremony was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr to distribute national civil awards for excellence in various fields, where President Asif Ali Zardari conferred honours on prominent personalities.

During the ceremony, Shahid Afridi received the prestigious award for his contributions to sports.
Meanwhile, the Hilal-e-Imtiaz awarded to mountaineer Shehroze Kashif was received by his mother on his behalf.
Several personalities from different sectors were honoured for their outstanding achievements during the ceremony. Awards presented included the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Shujaat Imtiaz.
