KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan women's national cricket team posted a formidable total to set a 331-run target for Zimbabwe women's national cricket team in the opening One Day International of the ICC Women's Championship.

Batting first at National Stadium Karachi after being put in, Pakistan scored 330 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

The hosts got off to a solid start as openers Gull Feroza and Sadaf Shamas put together a 162-run partnership. Feroza made 50 before being dismissed, while Shamas played a composed innings of 98 off 130 deliveries, narrowly missing out on a century.

In the middle order, Sidra Ameen contributed a brisk 67, while Najiha Alvi provided late momentum with an unbeaten 56 off just 30 balls.

Ayesha Zafar and Aliya Riaz made minor contributions, while captain Fatima Sana remained unbeaten on 11. The innings was further boosted by 43 extra runs.

For Zimbabwe, Precious Marange was the standout bowler, taking three wickets for 39 runs in her 10 overs. Kudzai Chigora and Nomvelo Sibanda picked up one wicket each.
