KARACHI (Dunya News) - Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by 24 runs in the 22nd match of Pakistan Super League Season 11.

Chasing a target of 197 runs, Multan Sultans managed 172 for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

For Multan, Shan Masood top-scored with 35 runs, while Josh Philippe made 32 and Steve Smith added 31.

Captain Ashton Turner contributed 20 runs, while Sahibzada Farhan and Mohammad Nawaz scored 17 and 16 respectively.

For Zalmi, Sufiyan Muqeem took three wickets, while Iftikhar Ahmed and Naeem Rana claimed two wickets each. Aamer Jamal picked up one wicket.

Earlier, at National Stadium Karachi, Multan Sultans captain Ashton Turner won the toss and invited Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam to bat first.

Zalmi posted 196 for six in their 20 overs.

Kusal Mendis led the charge with a blistering 68 off 40 balls, including three sixes and six fours. Mohammad Haris scored 38, while Farhan Yousaf added 30 runs.

Babar Azam struggled, scoring just 18 runs, while Michael Bracewell made 14 off eight balls.

For Multan, Mohammad Ismail and Peter Siddle took two wickets each, while Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Wasim Jr claimed one wicket apiece.
