The Dakar Rally crossed the border from Chile into Peru for the first time on Thursday with Cyril Despres leading the bikes home in the 11th stage astride his KTM. Gerard Farres Guell came second on his KTM with past winner Marc Coma third.Overall Despres leads Coma by just two minutes and 22 seconds.Stephane Peterhansel won the car stage in his Mini from Nani Romas similar car with another Mini of Ricardo Leal Dos Santos third and South Africas Giniel de Villiers fourth. Overall Peterhansel leads Roma by nearly 23 minutes with de Villiers third aboard his Toyota.Artur Ardavichus of Kazakhstan won the truck stage in his Kamaz. Overall leader Gerard De Rooy was third in his Iveco.
