More than half the worlds national Olympic committees have signed deals to set up training camps in Britain before next years London Games.The London organizing committee said Wednesday that 118 national bodies have reached agreements with local communities throughout Britain.Each facility will provide a vital service to ensure athletes can prepare for competition in 2012 while engaging their local community with sport and culture, LOCOG chairman Sebastian Coe said.Usain Bolt and the Jamaican athletics team and the U.S. track and field team will train in Birmingham in central England. They will use the newly renovated Alexander Stadium and the Birmingham University campus.The U.S. mens and womens basketball teams will be in Manchester, while the U.S. Olympic Committee will also have facilities at the University of East London.The British and Japanese Olympic teams will use facilities at Loughborough University in central England.The powerful Australian swimming team will be in Manchester and Chinese gymnasts in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Brazil will train at the Crystal Palace sports center in London, while Canada and South Korea will use facilities at Londons Brunel University.National committees are paid up to 25,000 pounds ($40,000) each to train at approved camps in Britain.
