Penalty corner specialist Sohail Abbas, forward Shakeel Abbasi, Muhammad Imran and Tauseef scored a goal each for Pakistan.Pakistan had earlier lost both matches to the hosts Australia, while recording two draws with India and qualified for the final on account of a better goal difference. Australia thrashed Pakistan by a margin of 8-2 during the league game.The win is a massive morale boost for Pakistan who are currently ranked number 9 in International Hockey rankings.The victory also comes as a solace for sport lovers in Pakistan, as victory coincides with Pakistani spot-fixing cricketing trio’s sentencing by a London court.
