Mongolias reigning light flyweight world champion Serdamba Purevdorj extended his winning ways at the amateur world championship beating 11-6 Thomas Essomba of Cameroon here on Monday.The 26-year-old champion will now face Columbias Ceiber David Avila Segura in a bout for a place in the quarter-finals.Beijing Olympics champion and last years Asian Games winner, Chinas Shiming Zou, who is seeking his third world title here, also went through into the third round with a confident 12-2 win over Hungarys Istvan Ungvari.In the lightweight category this year Asian championships silver medallist Qiang Liu of China beat Egypts Mehamed Ramadan 14-6 to meet Soon Chul Han of South Korea, who ousted Kyrgyz Symyk Abdyldabekulu 24-11, in the bout for a place in the last eight.Another category favourite Yasniel Toledo Lopez of Cuba battled into the third round of the event through a tough bout against Australias Luke Jackson winning with a narrow one-point advantage 11-10.In the middleweight Japans Ryota Murata, who sensationally defeated two-time world champion and top seed Abbos Atoev of Uzbekistan, clinched another win confidently beating Irans Mohammad Sattarour 22-11.In the next round Murata will face Germanys Stefan Hartel, who saw off Jaba Khositashvili of Georgia 22-6.Heavyweight top seed Artur Beterbiev of Russia, who enjoyed an opening round bye, started with an easy win as his opponent Mexicos Mario Heredia retired in the first round of their bout.Meanwhile, Chinas Xuanxuan Wang, this years Asian championships silver medalists, was also in command of his fight with Irans Reza Moradkhani winning all three rounds (3-0, 6-3, 7-1) for an overall 16-4 win to meet Ihab Derouiche Al Matbouli of Jordan in the third round of the event.
