World champion Yohan Blake equaled his personal best of 9.82 seconds Sunday to set a new 100-metre meet record at the ISTAF event.The 21-year-old Jamaican, who clocked the same time at the Weltklasse in Zurich on Thursday, comfortably beat Kim Collins of Saint Kitts and Nevis, who finished in 10.01 at Berlins Olympic stadium.Trinidads Richard Thompson was third in 10.08, with Michael Frater who like Blake helped Jamaica set a world-record in the 4x100-meter relay in Daegu, South Korea finishing fourth.Kelly-Ann Baptiste of Trinidad claimed the womens 100m event in a time of 11.15, ahead of Jamaicans Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart.In the womens 100 metre hurdles, Dawn Harper led an American 1-2-3 when she won in 12.68 seconds, ahead of Kellie Wells and Yvette Lewis. Canadas Phylicia George finished fourth, ahead of another American, Ginnie Crawford.Kirani James of Grenada followed up his win in Zurich to win the mens 400 metres in 45.33 seconds, followed by Nery Brenes of Costa Rica and compatriot Rondell Bartholomew.Russias Anastasiya Kapachinskaya won a slow womens 400 metres in 50.75 seconds, ahead of Francena McCorory of the U.S. in 50.91 and compatriot Antonina Krivoshapka in 51.27.In the mens event, Jehue Gordon of Trinidad ran a season-best 48.68 seconds to win. South Africas Cornel Fredericks came second in 49.18, with German Georg Fleischhauer third in 49.19.Kenyas Augustine Kiprono Choge ran his seasons best to win the mens 1500 metres in 3 minutes 31.14, ahead of Moroccos Abdalaati and Iguider and Nixon Kiplimo Chepseba of Kenya.In the womens 800, Kenyas Janeth Jepkosgei Busieni finished strongly to win in 1 minute, 58.26 seconds, just ahead of South Africas Caster Semenya who finished in 1:58.74. Maggie Vessey of the U.S. was third in 1:59.33.American Ryan Whiting set a meet record of 21.61 metres to win the mens shot put, with teammate Reese Hoffa second with 21.47. Polands Tomasz Majewski was third with a throw of 21.33.Jesse Williams of the US won the high jump by clearing 2.33 metres. Trevor Barry of the Bahamas was second and Raul Spank of Germany third.Alexandr Menkov of Russia won the long jump with 8.15 metres, ahead of Dwight Phillips of the U.S. who settled for 8.05. Cubas Wilfredo Martinez was third with 7.82.World-record holder Barbora Spotakova of the Czech Republic avenged her Daegu defeat to Russias Maria Abakumova by claiming the javelin with a throw of 67.14 metres.Germanys Christina Obergfoell was second with 64.95, while Abakumova claimed third with 64.34.World record-holder Betty Heidler of Germany delighted the crowd by setting a meet record of 76.99 metres with her first throw in the hammer, and then beating it with her second, of 77.40.World champion Tatyana Lysenko of Russia finished second with 74.67, while Kathrin Klaas of Germany claimed third with 74.58.There was also a local winner in the womens pole vault after Silke Spiegelburg cleared 4.71 metres. The German was pushed hard by Yarisley Silva but the Cuban settled for second with 4.66. Russias Svetlana Feofanova was third with 4.56.Germanys Robert Harting kept the fans happy by winning the discus with a throw of 67.22 metres, ahead of Estonias Gerd Kanter and Lithuanias Virgilijus Alekna.
