Summary The Universiade 2011 Closing Ceremony rehearsals took to the stage for the last time on Sunday.
The final rehearsals revealed that the Closing Ceremony will centre on a carnival festival theme, putting emphasis on a free flowing interaction between stage performers, athletes and audience.One of the leading performances includes Youth Beat, a tap dance orchestra which combines three different styles from Tibetan style to Irish to American jazz style. The performance displays a thorough and in-depth interpretation of the worlds great cultures. The style of the Closing Ceremony hopes to integrate audience and athletes into its performances.Luo Wei, the general director of the Closing Ceremony, shed light on what the performances hope to achieve, The orchestral music performance is totally freestyle, it breaks the old tradition of musical performances and marches. Athletes and audience alike will dance to the tempo in such an atmosphere, and their interaction with performers makes the whole venue lively and an unforgettable event.The Closing Ceremony performances will take place in all of the planned six venues including a main venue combined with five sub-venues. The venues will host carnivals of five continents from Asia, Australia and Oceania to Europe and Africa to the Americas.
