Summary Federation of Motor Sports Club of India announced that i1 super series will be held from Dec 18.
The first season of the series would commence from December 18.The company has sought the approval from FIA for the schedule as well as approval from the track owners in Greater Noida city in northern Uttar Pradesh state, Chennai city in southern Tamil Nadu state and overseas as well. The i1 Super Series would have nine teams from nine different metropolitan cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, among others.Each team would have two drivers, one of which will be an international driver and the other shall be an Indian or Asian driver with national and international experience in motor sports. The i1 series is scheduled to be held in the winter season when other international championships go on a break.Apart from India, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Dubai, Malaysia and Thailand are the other venues of the championship.
