Summary Gilles Simon of France and Nicolas Almagro of Spain will face each other in the German Open final.
Gilles Simon defeated Mikhail Youzhny of Russia in the first semi-final of the German Open Tennis in Hamburg.Simon, the world number 18, was full of confidence having beaten Gael Monfils in the quarter-finals and that showed as he had to come back from a set down to beat Youzhny 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.In the second semi-final, third-seed Nicolas Almagro of Spain beat compatriot Fernando Verdasco 6-4, 6-1 in a one sided affair.The last time Gilles Simon and Nicolas Almagro met in a final was in 2006 when Almagro beat Simon 6-2, 6-3 in the final of the Open de Tenis Comunidad in Valencia.
