Summary Honda rider Dani Pedrosa won his second straight German MotoGP and his second race of the season.
Lorenzos Yamaha surged past world championship leader Casey Stoner of Australia on the last of the 30 laps on the Sachsenring circuit.The Spaniard passed Stoner, who had started from pole position, on the inside of the final corner.Pedrosa was in his second race after missing three races following surgery to repair a fractured collarbone suffered at the French GP on May 15.Its an unbelievable feeling to win so soon after coming back, Pedrosa said. I didnt expect it at all.This track is good to me. The race was amazing and the pace was very high, he added. Pedrosa now has five career wins on the German circuit.Stoner led for the first few laps, only to be passed by Lorenzo. But Pedrosa sped to the front two-thirds into the race and never lost the lead again.Lorenzo managed to leave Stoner behind on the last corner.I took the risk, the Spaniard said.Stoner blamed poor grip on his rear wheel for slowing him down.It was a little wet and I was struggling to find the grip. I just didnt have it today, Stoner said.Stoners Honda teammate Andrea Dovizioso of Italy was fourth, Ben Spies of the United States was fifth and Marco Simoncelli of Italy finished sixth.
