Summary India beat West Indies by 63 runs in the first Test at Sabina Park on Thursday.

With the win, India took 1-0 lead in their three-Test series.Six wickets -- two apiece for Praveen Kumar and Amit Mishra -- led India to victory as they reduced the West Indies to 226 for nine in their second innings in the first Test.Kumar collected three for 42 from 16 overs and Mishra two for 39 from eight, as West Indies crumbled, after starting the day on 131 for three in search of 326 for victory.Kumar removed the overnight pair of Darren Bravo, bowled behind his back for the top score so far of 41, and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who was caught at extra cover for 30 inside the first half hour.Harbhajan Singh then spoiled Carlton Baugh Jrs 29th birthday celebrations when he had him caught at leg-slip for a duck, leaving West Indies 150 for six.Indias champion off-spinner was, however, quickly removed from the attack, when West Indies captain Darren Sammy launched him for three successive sixes over long-on into the Great Northern Stand.But Mishra cut short Sammys fun when he had him caught at extra cover for 25, and inflicted more agony on the hosts when he had Brendan Nash lbw for nine attempting an ugly slog; the hosts reeling on 188 for eight.India again met some resistance from the West Indies tail, with Ravi Rampaul again making a strong case for promotion in the home teams batting order.He made 34 before he was caught behind, gloving a snorter from Ishant Sharma, who has three for 77 from 16 overs.
