Summary England will resume their first innings on 4th day at 195/4 against Sri Lanka in Southampton Test.

Earlier, Sri Lanka started the rain-interrupted third day at 177 for the loss of 9 wickets and were all out for 184 runs. Chris Tremlett was most successful England bowlers by claiming six wickets.England lost their captain Andrew Strauss at the start of their innings when score was just three. But Alastair Cook gave stability to England batting with his record breaking innings of 55 runs. This was Cook’s sixth consecutive Test half century in as many innings. Kevin Pietersen also played an excellent knock of 85 runs.
