In the first round of women’s singles of the second Grand Slam event of the season, Kim Clijsters chalked out an easy 6-2, 6-3 win over her opponent Anastasiya Yakimova from Belarus.In another first round match, former world number one, Maria Sharapova registered a 6-3, 6-0 victory against Mirjana Lucic of Croatia.Sharapova is in Clijsters’ half of the draw at the Roland Garros and the two could meet in the quarterfinals.
