Summary Seven nations are participating in the 10 day event being held in Malaysia from May 5-15.

The 18-man Pakistani squad led by new Captain Mohammad Imran left for Malaysia along with Coach Michel van den Heuvel. There are high expectations from the Pakistan, winners of the Asian games. World champions Australia, Britain, India, Malaysia, New Zealand and South Korea along with Pakistan are participating in the event. Talking to the media, Captain Mohammad Imran said that he both young and senior players, victory in the tournament is expected. He said that he Pakistan wants to beat India in the tournament to take revenge of the Cricket World Cup.The national hockey team will play its first match against New Zealand on May 5. Pakistan will then face Korea on May 6th, England on 8th and Australia on May 9th. Whereas, The Pakistani team will play against the traditional rivals on May 11 and will face Malaysia on May 14.
