Summary Chennai Super Kings thrashed the Pune Warriors while Deccan Chargers beat the Kochi Tuskers Kerala.
The Chennai Super Kings recorded an easy 8 wicket victory over the Pune Warriors as the Deccan charges stormed to a 55 run victory after their pacers thrashed the Kochi Tuskers Kerala.In the first match, Pune Warriors won the toss and opted to bat first against the Chennai Super Kings at the Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. The Pune Warriors Yuvraj Singh scored 65runs while Robin Uthappa scored 31as the team went on to score a total of 141 runs at the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Douglas Bollinger was the highest wicket taker in the match as three wickets.The Chennai Super Kings were off to a cool start as Subramaniam Badrinath scored 63 runs and Suresh Raina scored 34. The Super King successfully chased the target in 19.3 over at the loss of just 2 wickets. In the other match, the Kochi Tuskers won the toss and decided to field first at the Nehru Stadium in Kochi. Captain of the Deccan Chargers, Kumar Sangakkara scored 65 runs while Cameron White scored 31 as the team totalled 129 runs in 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets. The Kochi Tuskers needed 130 runs to win from 120 balls but the Deccan chargers took the tuskers by surprise as they bowled out the team at just 74 runs in 16.3 overs. Ishant Sharma took five wickets in three overs giving just 12 runs. Dale Steyn took three wickets as the Deccan charges recorded a 55 run victory. In the 33rd match of the league, the Delhi Daredevils will face Kolkata Knight Riders at the Feroz Shah stadium in Delhi on Thursday.
