Summary Kubica is expected to head home for a few days before starting the rehabilitation programme.

Officials at the Santa Corona Hospital in Pietra Ligure, Italy said that Robert Kubica is no longer at the hospital. They said that Kubica is in good condition and he would begin a new phase of rehabilitation outside of the hospital.The hospital officials added that Kubica would visit regularly to be monitored by the doctors who treated him. Kubica would start the rehabilitation and a preliminary soft training programme under Dr Riccardo Ceccarelli, a consultant with the Lotus-Renault GP team.Formula One driver Robert Kubica for the Lotus-Renault GP team was seriously injured in a career threatening rally accident on February 6, in Italy. He was replaced by his former German teammate Nick Heidfeld for the rest of the season.Since the accident which almost severed his right hand, Kubica has undergone four surgeries and it is uncertain if he would regain full functionally of his hand. He has been released from the hospital after 11 weeks.
