Summary Pakistan Amry won the mens Athletics Championship and WAPDA won the womens Athletics Championship.
The 43rd National Athletics Championship was held in the Punjab Stadium in Lahore. Pakistan Army and WAPDA emerged on top as the three- day event concluded.Collectively, WAPDA was in first place having won 24 gold medals while Army came in second winning 14 gold medals. PIA won two gold medals and was ranked at number three. In the men’s category, Army successfully defended their title by winning 14 gold medals while WAPDA could only win three. In the women’s category, WAPDA won 19 gold medals while the army could not win a single gold medal. Pakistan Steel, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Islamabad, Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa participated in the championship but could not win any medal.
