Summary World number one Lee Chong Wei played a charity badminton match in Kuala Lumpur, for Japan.
The exhibition match held in Kuala Lumpur brought World number one Lee Chong Wei against Indonesian ace Taufik Hidayat. In the match, Chong Wei triumphed over Taufik. After the match an auction was held, in which the rackets used by Chong Wei to win the All-England title were sold along with Chong Weis shoes and two t-shirts.A total of US$ 340,000 was earned from the match and the auction. The preceding will be spent on relief work for the people in Japan, who have been affected by the earthquake and tsunami.
