Mardy Fish cruised to the semi-finals with a 7-5 6-2 win over David Ferrer in the quarterfinal of the Sony Ericsson Open 2011. Fish, currently ranked 15th, will formally overtake world number eight Roddick when the ATP world rankings are updated next week.Not being able to get in the rhythm, frustrated Ferrer lobbed a ball at a crying baby in the crowd. He was lucky to escape without a warning or a fine from the event officials.Fish will face Novak Djokovic, unbeaten in 22 successive games this year, in the semi-final of Sony Ericsson Open Tournament.
