(Dunya News) – Following the third edition of Pakistan Super League that witnessed cricket matches being hosted in the grounds of Lahore and Karachi, Pakistan will now host the first ever edition of the much loved desi sport of Kabaddi.
After a hiatus of sporting events in the country, the much anticipated ‘Super Kabaddi League’ will feature over 120 players from ten countries. The drafting of the League will start from April 23.
The League hopes to feature players from ten different countries such as Iran, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Kenya and Bangladesh. Bangladesh and Kenya have already confirmed their participation.
The organisers are hoping to form eight teams from these players.
The players from Pakistan are from the cities of Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawer, Multan, Gujrat, Gwadar and Faisalabad.
The matches will start in Lahore from May. Eight teams would contest for the League. Other than this, female teams would also be playing 2 exhibition matches.
The Super Kabaddi League (KSL) with its announcement has gained immense popularity among the audience and has also become one of the top trends on social networking site, Twitter.
The inauguration ceremony of the League would be held on May 1. The matches would start from May 2 and continue till May 10.
