Summary New Zealands Ross Taylor offered to take Kamran Akmal on a dinner for his dropped catch.
After beating Pakistan in the World Cup match, New Zealand’s vice captain, Ross Taylor, said that he is ready to take Pakistan’s wicket keeper, Kamran Akmal, on a dinner for dropping his catch on his birthday. Taylor said that if a player is not in form, he just needs a moment to get back in form and that moment was given to him by Kamran Akmal when he dropped his catch. He added that this was just the kind of performance he was looking for on his birthday and for that reason alone he is ready to take Akmal on a dinner if he wishes. At a post match press conference, Pakistan coach Waqar Younis said that instead of criticizing his team we should appreciate New Zealand’s performance. On the other hand, Waqar said that Kamran Akmal showed a very dismal performance in the match against New Zealand and but he will not be dropped from the World Cup due to one bad performance. Although Waqar said that he might consider replacing the wicket keeper after the World Cup.
