Summary After a humiliating defeat in the World Cup at the hands of West Indies, the infuriated cricket fans burnt 3000 jerseys but their temper did not cool down, as they threw stones at Bangladesh cricket team captain, Hasan Shakib.
The angry fans came on motorbikes and threw stones at his residence in Magura. At the time, Shakib’s parents and sister were inside the house. According to Shakib’s father, the windows and the doors of the house have been damaged due to the stoning but the family remained unhurt. On March 4, 2011 when West Indies were on their way back to the hotel after beating Bangladesh, angry Bangladeshi fans threw stones at the bus. A few windows were shattered but none of the players was injured.
