Summary Pakistani cricket team captain Shahid Afridi completed his 300 wickets in one day internationals when he claimed the wicket of his counterpart Kumar Sangakkara in a World Cup match against Sri Lanka at Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
It was the 314th match of Afridi’s career and he required three wickets before the match to reach the milestone of 300. After Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis Afridi is third Pakistani bowler to get 300 wickets in one day internationals. He is also only the second player after Sanath Jayasuriya to complete 300 wickets and 4000 runs in one days. Afridi has claimed four, five-fors in his career so far and his best bowling is 6 for 38.
