Summary Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi grabbed 4-34 as Pakistan recorded a nervy 11-run win over co-host Sri Lanka in their World Cup Group A match on Saturday.

Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan scored successive World Cup half centuries in a challenging Pakistan total of 277-7. Sri Lanka made a late charge through Chamara Silvas 57 but ended up at 266-9.Legspinner Afridi spoiled Sri Lankas hopes of its maiden World Cup victory against Pakistan with key wickets of captain Kumar Sangakkara, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Thilan Samaraweera and Silva. Afridi also completed 300 wickets in one-day internationals. Pakistan defeated Kenya by 205 runs in the first match with Afridi recording Pakistans best ever World Cup figures of 5-16. Pakistan kept the same line-up that defeated Kenya by 205 runs at Hambantota on Wednesday. Sri Lanka left out slinger Lasith Malinga who failed to fully recover from a back strain which forced him to miss the 210-run win against Canada on Sunday. Chamara Kapugedera and Ajantha Mendis made way for Chamara Silva and left-arm spinner Rangana Herath.
