Summary International Cricket Council has announced investigation of former captain Salman Butts participation in a TV show to give expert opinion during the upcoming World Cup 2011.
Two-day meeting of ICC Executive Board was concluded in Dubai in which spot-fixing case and world cup came under discussion. ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat said that he was disappointed over Salman Butt’s deal with a TV channel for expert commentary in the world cup 2011 and he announced to hold investigation of the issue. He said that he has written to the tribunal head Michael Beloff for investigation. It is worthy to note here that Butt, together with pace bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer, was banned this month following spot-fixing charges related to the Lords Test against England last August.
