RAWALPINDI (Daily Dunya) – The national athletes, who won medals for Pakistan in South Asian and Asian Beach games, will be rewarded with Rs 7.54 crore in a ceremony on August 24.
According to details, the federal government has already issued funds while the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) had transferred the money to federation’s account last year due to funds lapse.
However, the federation will now give cheques to PSB after which they will be handed over to the players.
PSB Director General Dr Akhtar Nawaz said that the amount and medals will be distributed among the athletes while he also lauded the efforts of Riaz Hussain Pirzada who is keen to promote sports in the country.
He said that SAF games gold medalists will be given Rs 10 lac, silver medalists will Rs 5 lac while those who won bronze medal will be awarded Rs 2.5 lac.
